About the book:
Heroines is an inspiring collection of black & white
portraits and poetry that illuminates the trials and spiritual transformation
of 21 Minnesota women who have faced breast cancer. Nikpay’s
compelling verse reflects her Persian influence in which contradictions
and opposing emotions are celebrated as part wisdom and intuitive
knowledge. The book also includes an essay by renowned author Thomas
Moore that eloquently guides the reader to shape and influence their
healing journey. Moore’s essay entitled How To Be Healed
By Your Illness will prove profoundly useful to the newly diagnosed
and all those who are touched by breast cancer.
Heroines is published by Orion/Zenith Services Inc.,a
nonprofit social services agency based in the Twin Cities.
